Bridge Lake

Located in the scenic Boulder drainage, this hike offers a captivating experience for outdoor enthusiasts. The trek spans approximately 6 miles with an elevation gain of around 3,000 feet. We undertook this adventure over a delightful 3-night trip, and it turned out to be a truly rewarding experience. The initial 4 to 5 miles of the trail are fairly moderate, making them accessible for most hikers. However, beyond this point, the trail becomes quite steep, providing a good challenge. This ascent is then rewarded with a stunning opening where camping opportunities abound, although the campsite is a bit of a distance from the lake itself. The lake is roughly 2 miles away and requires climbing a little over 1,000 feet in elevation from this spot. Upon reaching the lake, you will be greeted with breathtaking views both in front of you and behind you, making the hike well worth the effort. There is a short jaunt that leads over to an old cabin along the way that you will undoubtedly discover during your hike. We did have an unexpected encounter with a black bear on this memorable trip.
